Spike Site:

A Spike Site is one of the designated bomb sites on a VALORANT map where the attacking team can plant the Spike to begin the post-plant phase.

Each map has specific sites, usually labeled A, B, or occasionally more, and both teams play around controlling access to them. Attackers use utility, map control, and coordinated entry to reach a site and plant, while defenders try to delay the plant, keep the Spike from being planted, or retake the site after it goes down. Spike Sites matter because planting creates a new objective: the attacking team must protect the Spike until detonation, while defenders must defuse it in time. For example, on Ascent, attackers may take mid control, split onto A Site, plant the Spike behind cover, and then hold common retake paths such as A Main and Tree.
